A因为是过去必须是must have been
B表示过去的过去,肯定不对
C因为是过去必须是could have been
只有D符合要求

俺也觉得选C
C,could be表猜测。
Amust和or so一个肯定，一个不肯定。不能用。
BD没有明显的完成时标志如for，since，by等，所以不用。
