Today Li Hong guided me on a tour of the Tianjin Olympic Center,which is under construction.As is well-known,Tianjin will stage a part of the soccer competition in the Beijing Olympics.Li Hong introduced the competition sections,which consist of the Olympic Stadium,Aquatic Sports Center,International Exchange Center,and the already finished Gymnasium.

She said that to show the features of this coastal city and the abundance of water resources,the designer set the theme around water.The Olympic Stadium and Aquatic Sports Center were smartly designed as smooth and Dynamic water-drop shapes.With the Gymnasium,there will be three bright “water drops” sprinkling on the surface.This design of "water drops" entering into the lake indicates human longing for a return to nature.

The Beijing Olympics are rapidly approaching and 11 million Tianjin people are preparing for it in every way.I am deeply moved by people's ardor in the preparation,which makes me plunge into the process unconsciously.I believe my students will be able to serve the Olympics as volunteers.
