yes译为“不”no译为“是的”的情况是有的,那是针对否定疑问句的回答的英译汉,例：
"The clock will ring on time,don't you know?"（——闹钟到点就响,你不知道吗?）
A1:"Yes,I do."（答1：不,我知道.）
A2:"No,I don't.”（答2：是啊,我不知道.）
——这个,中文习惯大家都知道怎么答；英文的不拐弯,更简单：肯定的就答YES,否定的就答NO.之所以说“英文不拐弯”（Yes后面肯定是do、will、am等肯定式,No后面肯定是don't、won't、am not等否定式）,是因为中文“拐了弯”：先否定你的看法（不,……）然后说实情（我知道）；或者先同意你的看法（是的,……）再说出实情（我不知道）.这里,如果Yes不译为“不”而译为“是”,或者No不译为“是”而译为“不”,中文就讲不通了,可以自己试一下：）
