why是关系副词,which/that是关系代词,它们在定语从句中要充当成分.
在第一个句子中,从句he told me缺少宾语sth,所以要选关系代词which/that
在第二个句子中,从句he was ill已经构成主系表结构,只能再加入状语,用关系副词why做状语.
