When I first came to Dalian,I was attracted by the waypoint of this city.I wondered why there’re so many waypoint which was unexpectedly made by four languages.My classmate told me that this is the characteristic of Dalian.One hundred years ago,a group of tsarist Russian came to a village which wasn’t well-known at that time.They intended to build an eastern Pairs there.Then a city called Dalny was born.After the Russo-Japanese war,Dalny was conceded to Japan.Since then Japanese have taken over the city for 40 years.In recent fifty years,it is Chinese who developed Dalian.I think that is the reason why so many different cultures can exist in a same city.Because of the history,Dalian has become an international metropolis now.
On the other hand,with the development of technology,world became smaller and smaller.More and more foreigners participate in our daily life.The world has become an inseparable whole.If we cannot know each other very well and look at problems with a global vision,Disaster and war will be inevitable.The financial crisis which originated in the U.S.swept through the world.Our life also had a great impact in this crisis.We can no longer stand by.We need to communicate with each other.
Therefore,as a university student,we need to understand different cultures,to communicate with people from different countries.And Dalian,as a multicultural,young and vibrant city,provides us with such a platform.In this atmosphere,we can more easily put aside prejudice,racial,national and think problems more objectively.Thoughts from different cultures to our mind will inject new ideas to solve problems.It is both an opportunity and challenge for us.We should seize this opportunity and learn from different cultures so that we can catch up with the pace of the world.
