The adsorption properties of carbon-fiber busofite-type materials with respect to molecular iodine I2 and
methyl iodide CH3I are investigated.It is shown that compared with SKT-3 activated carbon the efficiency
of molecular iodine removal from air using busofite is 3 times higher and the efficiency for methyl iodide
is 1.7 times higher.For busofite impregnated with 1–3 mass% KI,TEDA,or AgNO3 the efficiency of
removal of CH3
131I (no carrier) increases by a factor of 2 and reaches 96–99.5% for 1–3 layers of busofite.
The dynamical capacity of busofite with respect to CH3I is 8.5–10 mg/cm2 250 mg/g),and the contact
time on the first layer of the material is ³0.08 sec.
