Youth are the future masters of the country.Being a youth is one thing,and being a good one is another.For sure everyone tries or has tried to be a good youth,but not everyone has the same or the right idea about it.Then what are the qualifications for being a good youth?
I hold the idea that they should include at least the following.First of all,one must be of good heath.A healthy body is the best treasure a person can ever possess.Without it,nothing can be accomplished.If you are poor in heath,you will have to rely on bottles after bottles of vitamin pills day after day.And just imagine having to be absent from classes,work,sports and other social activities just because you are lying sick in bed again.So,when you are young,live a regular and wholesome life,do physical exercise and eat nutritious food.Do away with those bad habits of smoking,drinking and staying up playing computer games.
Secondly,one must be of good virtue,and have high moral standards.Always do to others as you would be done by.If everyone did the same kindness to others,what a wonderful world it would be.Thirdly,one must have the ability to work with others.Cooperation and communication are two major keys to better human relations.Everyone needs team spirit and everyone needs friends because no one can live alone or do everything he wants to do all by himself and at all times.In addition,patriotism is what we should never give up.Patriot- ism means a love for one's own country.It is one of the noblest of human sentiments.Everyone should be patriotic.But people sometimes think that patriots must be fighters or that they should live in times of war and fight for their country.They are mistaken.One can be a patriot in time of peace to play a part in maintaining and passing down the culture of your country.As a Chinese youth,you should be familiar with your ancient culture,such as the values of benevolence and filial piety of Confucianism and the treasured heritage of literature,painting and calligraphy.
Last but not the least,a good youth of today should have the basic training in art.If everyone can appreciate art and be able to create more of it for others,people will live better and enjoy more.
