As Hai Zi said “ I only wish to face the sea, with spring blossoms ”. This is a sort of solitude that he worked as a poet who was greatly eager to possess freedom , I think . There are two aspects that may have positive or negative influence on our life .

On the one hand, enjoy the solitude ,the chance to be alone with your thoughts, or to listen to music you love ,to see the world around you. That is to say, you can not hear your thoughts, your voice ,without solitude. Remove the noise in your life as well. For example ,now we are studying in college Where are far away from our hometown and far away from our parents ,there is no doubt that we should and must depend on ourselves, think things out for ourselves and so on. As we all know, every excellent man who has a time of solitude which can surprise on himself when he looked back on . So we can conclude that solitude has a good effect on our mature. While temporary and situational loneliness can be a normal ,healthy part of life ,chronic loneliness can be sad, and sometimes dangerous condition. Research have shown that loneliness can impair health by raising levels of stress and increasing inflammation. The damage can be widespread, affecting every

bodily system and brain function.

As far as I am concerned , we should hold the right attitude towards to the solitude. If you feel so solitary in a new environment, you can establish new friendships and resist feeling of aloneness.

Good morning, everyone.First I’d like to show you some pictures.Do you like wandering alone on a cozy afternoon,meditating solely when faced with overwhelmed pressure,or just absorbing your practice by writing diary on certain evening ?If your answer is “no”,would your reasons be that I love to be with my friends and communicate with them only in that case can I feel safe and pleasant and so on.On the contrary,If your answer is “yes”,then what would be your reasons?Maximize your freedom without any restriction,achieve better self-refection and so on?Okay,as you may have guessed,my topic today will be “enjoy solitude”.Honestly speaking,I really enjoy my alone time and I’d like to share with you some of my experiences later.

Now let’s start with the definition of “solitude”.To a certain degree,it is close to living alone.American sociologist Jerry M. Burger defines solitude as a condition in which you don’t communicate with others and get no information from outside world.Strictly speaking,solitude is different from living alone.Cases when you are alone in your dormitory but phone your parents can’t category into solitude.When you are in the presence of a crowd but have no information exchange with others,such as walking alone in the park,can also be a condition of solitude.

Okay,now we're gonna look at the advantages of solitude.As the famous writer Henry David Thoreau’s saying goes, “I have never met a better companion than solitude”.The advantages of solitude are obvious.

Firstly,solitude can maximize our freedom. When traveling outside with others,you may get restricted and can’t follow your heart to do whatever you’d like to because of disagreements between you and your companion.We always deal with this problem by choosing those we are all interested in and you have to give up something you like.But when you are alone,things work out differently.Take myself as an example,when wandering outside on my own,I can plan my visiting ways casually and if I am interested in a unique store I just enter without hesitating.In other words,this kind of visiting is more like a process of exploration and you can derive great pleasure from it.So maybe you should trying rambling across an interesting road,setting yourself free and getting totally relaxed.Of course wandering outside on your own is on the premise that your safety is ensured.

Secondly,We can be high-concentrated when in solitude,in which case we are able to know ourselves and our surroundings more sensibly.Solitude provides us with space to absorb and reflect on our practice and then achieve self-promotion. As the famous saying “Every day I do self-inspection on three aspects” by Confucius goes,spending a

brief time living alone and refect on yourself makes great sense.Here are some extracts from my diary.I like to summarize my life and study,and then think about in which aspects I can do better when being solitude. It is quite an effective way to achieve self-promoted.What’s more,when faced of tremendous pressure or in a bad mood for some trivia,solitude helps us calm down,accept those facts subjectively,eliminate negative emotions and come up with solutions.That’s why we are used to saying ”leave me alone” when annoyed and confused.Here are another extracts from my diary.I feel much better and optimistic after an objective analysis about those annoyances and cheering myself up.So,maybe you should turn to yourself for help when in trouble or being anxious.Sometimes others are just onlookers and can’t really put themselves on your shoes.

Thirdly,solitude also helps in terms of inspiring creativity.Scientific research shows that we can get more concentrated when living alone and thus come up with creative ideas.Take the famous writer Zhuziqng as an example.He wrote the beautiful prose “Moon light perfuse on lotus pond” after rambling alone through the lotus pond.And there are sentences like this,which depicts the pleasure of solitude vividly.Some other well-known people also create eye-catching achievements in their solitude,like Thoreau,Chopin,Kafkaesque Tao Yuanming and so on.

Okay,so much about the advantages of solitude,have you gotten

persuaded by me and approved the value of being solitude?As an experiencer and benefit-acceptor of solitude,I am sure you will gain a lot from it. It is difficult to get a welfare client's wheelchair repaired. Once my wheelchair needed repairing, and I notified my caseworker. She gave me a lecture that I hadn't taken good care of my wheelchair. Then she told me that I must have the patience to wait until she had the time to report my wheelchair conditions to my medical worker. Then the medical worker called the wheelchair repair companies to get the cheapest bid and informed the main welfare office at the state capital. Some people prefer to live alone whereas some others have to live alone for one reason or another. Those people believing in inspirational solitude argue that no companion is more companionable than solitude. Literary giants such as William Wordsworth, John Milton and Henry Thoreau enjoyed living alone on purpose. Hunters or explorers enjoy themselves as they venture out to tame the great wild areas. On the other hand, there are some other people who have to live alone due to various reasons: being divorced, widowed or never married. Many of them feel bitter to live in solitude. Typically there are two kinds of people who choose to live alone on purpose. The first group of people is artists. They believe in the inspiration in solitude. One of my friends is a writer.
