My Favourite Festival

In our country, there are a lot of festivals. Such as:Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Lantern Festival... But, of all the festivals, I like Spring Festival. Why? Now, let me tell you.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. Our parents tell us a story about why we have the Spring Festival:

A long time ago, in China, there is a big and dangerous monster. We call it ‘ Nian ’. Every year, the monster comes to village and eat people. People are very afraid of it. One day, a old man come to the village with a little boy. The day which the monster comes to the village was coming, so local people asked them run away. The old man were not afraid of it, and he said he would like to help the villager to kill the monster.

A dark night, the monster called ‘ Nian ’ came again. All the people ran away expect the old man and the boy. The monster came to them and would like to eat them. Suddenly, the old man light the bamboo in the yard. The bamboo made a very loud noise and the monster felt very afraid. Then, it ran away as fast as it can and never came back.

It is just a story. It is interesting. It tells us why we need to let off fireworks on Spring Festival. At the same time, we can’t go to bed before 12 o’clock. We also need to eat dumplings and something others to celebrate the festival. In fact, Spring Festival is not one day. It is about two weeks.

Nowadays, people really like Spring Festival. Not only because it is the most important festival in China, but also because we can have lots of fun during these time. We can have a long holiday, that means we can have a good rest and go to some place you like. For me, as a child, I can go and visit my friends and relatives. And everybody will come back home to stay with their parents. Now,let me tell you something about the New Year’s Eve.

In the morning, we need to prepare for the big dinner at night. So each family will go to the market and buy the food they need. Then, they go back home and start to cook delicious food. After a day’s prepare, all the family members will go back home and stay with each other. They have a good opportunity to chat with others and tell the funny things what the hear about in a year. They share happiness with each other. It is really

warm and happy. About 8’o clock in the evening, people will turn on their TV and watch Spring Festival Gala Evening. At the same time, people start to have their dinner. Of course, after a day’s prepare, the food is the most delicious of all the year. People always eat fish, dumplings, crabs, noodles and other many things. The fish means you will have enough money to use next year. After having dinner, people will start to play some games to kill the time, such as:Mahjong, cards, computer games... Old people often give pocket to the chi

ldren. Times fly, the clock is ringing, every get out and let off fireworks. Suddenly, the dark sky becomes colorful. That’s the end of the old year.

These is what I know about Spring Festival. I really love this festival. What about you?

My favorite festival is spring festival. The Spring Festival is our Chinese people's festival. There are different names for each Chinese year. We call it the year of the dog, the year of the pig, the year of the tiger ...And the year of 2013 is the year of snake.

Before the day of the festival, people are busy shopping and cleaning their houses. On the Eve, there is a big family dinner. After dinner, all the family stay up late to welcome the New Year. It is the middle of the night. We have dumplings. We can watch many kinds of parties on TV. On the first day of the New Year, people put on their new clothes and go to visit their friends. They say "Happy New Year" and some other greetings to each other. people have a good time during the festival.

My favorite festival is the Spring Festival. Chinese Spring Festival is the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It begins on the last day of the lunar year and ends on the 15th day of lunar New Year. I always enjoy myself during this traditional festival.

Last Spring Festival, I went to my grandparents’home. I played with my cousin every day. We played a lot of games on the Eve of the Spring Festival. At night, we played fireworks to make ourselves happy. We were very tired because we went to bed after twelve o’ clock,but we were excited to stay up late!

The next morning, every child was looking forward to receiving red envelope money. My cousin and I were so eager that we got up very early and then began to say “Wish you a fortune！Give me a red envelope!”to every elder relative, and then we would receive red envelopes with money it them. At last we got many red envelopes, how happy we were! That’s why the Spring Festival is my favorite festival.

????Far and away the most important holiday in China is Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year. To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the West. ????To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year's Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. Have you enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival? Mid-Autumn Festival is Chinese traditional festival , and it’s very important to Chinese people ,it’s the time that every family member come together and share happiness. We will feel lonely if we can not enjoy the festival with families. We have this festival since ancient time , it really have long history. I always spend the festival with my families before I come to university. But now , I can only spend it with my friends in kunming ,because my home is far away . we should eat the mooncake in that day , and we can have a big meal for dinner, some delicious meat and fish, and some local food,there are 10 chinese food on our table at least. I always spend it with my grandparents,parents, brothers , sisters and uncles, it’s really a big family ,just like a family meeting. We eat together and talk with happiness. After we finish our dinner , about eight o’clock, we prepare another important event. My mom put some fruits and moomcakes on the table , old people like some tea ,we children like juice. Family member come together again and watch the beautiful moon and enjoy the fantastic mooncake. Moon is the symbol for pureness and goodness . and there is a famous song in China named The Moon Can Express My Heart. So you can understand how Chinese people love the moon from this song, then at ten or eleven o’clock we go to the bed and pray for a good wish next year. This my Mid-Autumn Featival ,I love the festival and I love my family too!
