Me as a writer

I am not good atwriting, although I have written thousands of articles since I wasa pupil. My writing history is from sketching characterstremblingly with pencil to typing on the Microsoft Word. The morethan ten years writing age can be divided into threeparts.

In primary school andjunior high school, the main type is narration writing, while inhigh school we had focused on argumentation. All in all, writingbefore college is practiced for the exams. So we actually haven’tleant how to write well but how to get high scores. The stereotypedwriting, which has almost thousands years of infamous history, areexam-oriented in both structure and content. To suit for argumentstructure, teachers asked us to recite tons of ancient and modern,Chinese and foreign cases to build the essays, among which Edisonwith his 2000 times failures can be found in almost every students’works. As for the content, it was limited to the requirements. Thetypical exams require that the author should generally write noless than 800 characters within 40 minute, and if he had spent toomuch time completing previous exercises, he probably needs tofinish his writing in 30 minute or less. So the words are justvomited form mind and scribbled onto the paper, and the hands arealways quicker than mind so that we can get a bulk of empty junkwords in the compositions.

 In myfirst step of writing, I remembered a whole lot of famous peopleand their famous achievements accordingly, and listed them on mypaper palely

My second step isstarted after hearing a teachers’ word in college. She said, whatyou write is write for the reader; you must concern what thereaders like to read. So I tried to avoid the junk words and mademy essays as interesting as possible. This method had brought mesome praise in some classes witch appreciate creativity andindividual thoughts.

It is a critique thatbrought me to the third stage. After putting the final touch on apiece of writing that I was feeling pretty good about, I waited fora commendation as usual. However, the teacher just said it was fullof error of fixed collocation and grammar. Then I realized that Ifaced with the question that my poor vocabulary and grammar can notmatch my mind. What worse, teachers always force us to writecomplex sentences and big words, but I can not even write a correctsimple sentence. So I began to recite not only the meaning andsounds of words but also the spelling and usage. Meanwhile, codingsentences and structure of native speaker seems to be my nextstep.

I like writing. I likethe feeling of flowing of the words, expressing the idea which Ieager to show off. It’s a world which is created by me myself. I amGod of that world. No matter which language I use, how awful myessays are, I will continue my writing till mastering all thewords.
