Nowadays, with the unprecedented advance in science and technology, more and more people are increasingly suffering from great stress in order to keep pace with the rapid development of society.some people are in favor of that stress is a bad thing by holding it may lead to mental illness.while others take an opposite side by saying that stress can stimulate them to make greater progress. As far as I'm concerned.the advantage of stress outweighs the disadvantage.my are given as follows.
There is no denying that stress will pose a threaten to our daily life, but which only happens to those who can't strike a balance between work and family or study and play.or rather those who always feel negative to life.while for those who often see the brighter side of life, stress is a catalyst to stimulate them to work harder or to surpass themselves.Consequently, they will continueously approach their goals. what's more, stress makes us aware of the significance of communicating with others and positive altitude to life.Last but not least,if we are under great stress,we are prone to ask someone for help to get some adivice from him or her, which will strenthten our relationships as they think you lay great emphasis on them.
From the foregoing,a natural conclusion can be easily drawn that to some degree stress is a good thing to us as long as we keep sensible to it .just as we can't stop eating for choking,so we can't deny its positive side for trival disadvantage.

Is Stress a Bad Thing?
Nowadays, modern people have heavier and heavier living stress. Different people have different things to say. Some think that stress tires us out and causes mental illness, while others regards stress as a fuel to work harder. For the former, stress sometimes is really a great trouble to those weak-minded person. For the latter, however, i sided with their idea that people can live in a better way with stress. Because stress can spur people onto greater heights. Without stress, people may lose the will to compete with others and strive to do their best. Therefore, I think stress is a good thing for the reasons i stated above.

“I can't stand the pressure and competition,” explained one friend of mine when asked why he decided to quit his highly-paid but demanding position in his company recently. My friend may have his own reasons, but I don't think his decision is wise in reality.
It's true that my friend's case is not unique. In the last few years quite a number of men and women have chosen to do something less competitive at the cost of a comfortable, easy life a highly-paid job can obtain. They are afraid that the stresses and strains of work will rob them of joy and happiness and do them harm both physically and mentally. In fact, however, stress isn't the bad thing it is often supposed to be. Unless it gets out of control, a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and challenge, and to give purpose and significance to an otherwise meaningless, idle life. People under stress tend to express their full range of potential and to actualize their own personal worth——the very aim of a human life.
Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. What we can do is to develop our adaptive abilities to deal with it rather than to escape from it.
