Furthermore,the trust components themselves (i.e.,predictability,dependability and faith) need to be further studied in a more behavioral-based setting to provide better insights into the cognitive processes at work when consumers do evaluate brand extensions.In the language of Keller (2003),we need to find exactly how brand knowledge structures are updated given the results obtained here.Such insights would also help us to develop better managerial guidelines on what brands might benefit from indirect brand naming extensions when consumers face uncertainty and perceived risk in the extension and how managers should develop certain brand traits to enhance the extension potential of their brands.We hope that this study will stimulate further analysis in these directions.
