Harry potter and the Philosopher's Stone is a beautiful work of art that has captured the hearts of its readers. Rowling successfully draws her readers into a magical world with her plot full of bizarre and unexpected twists, where every chapter leaves them yearning for more. The story's elements of surprise and mystery is unravelled when Professor Snape, who has always expressed hate and disdain for Harry, saves the young wizard in the end, while the timid and stuttering Professor Quirrell turns out to be the one who has been helping Lord Voldemort in his quest for the philosopher's stone.
The story is set in the castle of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry which is a marvel in itself, with interesting things such as its moving staircases, talking and moving portraits, a three-headed dog, wizard chess, flying brooms, Quidditch, house ghosts and many more secrets that await discovery by the readers themselves. The characters Harry, Ron, Hermione, the Weasley family, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape etc. have also been brought to life under Rowling's amazing writing, which has given each character his or her own distinct personality.
