In Fig.7 we map stresses which characterize pure bending (upper row) and bending rotation (lower row).Each of the six circles represents a wire cross section (wire diameter d = 1.4 mm) and the scale on the left of Fig.7 relates tensile and compressive stresses to colors.The locations of maximum tensile strain (filled black circles) and the corresponding numerical values are also documented in every cross section.In each case the upper semi-circle shows tensile stresses while the lower part is in compression.Fig.7 shows results for 3 bending radii R (R = 70 mm on the left,R = 40 mm in the middle and R = 20 mm on the right).The bending rotation results (lower row in Fig.7) are associated with a counter clockwise rotation.
