To be honest, for a student majoring in English, reading English novels is absolutely necessary, especially those classic ones. It's quite a good and interesting way to improve English level compared to other ways. And I don't really think reading English novels will ruin your pursuit for money.
Anyway, hoping you happy everyday!(as you mentioned, you find everything is the same, okay, happiness can be the same everyday, it's all there, you just need to fing it!)

If you find one thing that you like to do , just do it . In addition ,I improved my English by reading out (even if my English is still not good). So you should believe anything so long as you will have unexpected harvest . Don't think too much.
