The first bus appeared early in the last century. It is the most widespread form of transportation and has been playing an important role in our daily lives. With increasing urbanization and mechanization, it becomes more and more important.
Public bus systems have many special features. First, bus tickets are relatively cheap. Most people can afford them. Secondly, bus lines extend to almost every corner of cities that have them, and are convenient for almost everyone. The one big disadvantage of a bus system is that it can’t run on time while a subway can. At rush hour, you get stuck in traffic along with everyone else.
Now the government puts a lot of manpower and money into keeping the bus systems running well and continuing to provide people with a more convenient form of transportation.
