The differences between Northeast dialect and Mandarin is not so significant,for Northeast three provinces located in the north dialect area,while the Mandarin is based on the north dialect .However,this does not mean that the northeast dialect and mandarin are totally the same thing,the northeast dialect has its unique side.Retroflex sound is right an important characteristic of the northeast dialect,according to the analyzation about this retroflex sound from Panjin dialect,the conclusion is that this retroflex sound in Panjin dialect is happened to those words which is used frequently in daily life or the words which are more colloquial.most small words ,or those monosyllabic adjectives and quantifiers use to have retroflex sound .Besides nouns,other parts of speech of word also has its rule,this rule also applies in the northeast dialect.In addition,on the basis of the predecessors,we analyzed the function of this retroflex sound and its application in the film and television works.we hope this can help all of you to learn about this feature of northeast dialect.

However, that similarity does not mean the northern dialects are equal to Putonghua, for the dialects in Northeast China have their own characteristics, among which retroflex final is a remarkable feature. Through the analysis of retroflex sounds occuring in Panjin dialect, a conclusion is drawn that such a phenomenon tend to appears in those vocabulary which are commonly used in everyday life, with more flavor of colloqualism, most small informal vocabulary, mono-syllabic adjectives or reduplicated classifiers. In addition to nouns, other classes of words have also developed some rules for retroflex finals, which apply to the Northeast dialects as well. Firthermore, based on the research of our predecessors, a series of analysis has also been undertaken in terms of the functions of retroflex sounds as well as its application in the TV works and movies. which, I hope, will help the readers learn more about retroflex sounds common in the Northeast dialects.
