Exercising in the mornings is an energizing way to get toned!You are off to a great start by being motivated to want to exercise.Though it is nice that you live right by a track,this is not the only place that you can run.
To make your runs more interesting,try a change of scenery.Now,depending on where you live,trails for running or parks to run in may not be avaliable for you.However,if there is a park nearby that is relatively big,it can be a great place for you to run.You can run different loops in the park to make the run longer.I find that running around in circles on a track is boring too,and it seems to take so much longer to run a mile on the track than it does on a trail or anywhere else.Though I don't like running on a track,I still run other places.
Another way to make running and walking more interesting is to listen to music while you do so.Listening to an ipod,radio,walkman,or any kind of mp3 player can get you more energized while you work-out.
I think that going outside in the morning while exercising would be more energizing,but the cardio workouts will also help you if the weather is bad or you want to stay indoors.
Biking is a great morning exercise it tones your legs.The important thing to remember when you choose what exercises to do is that you really enjoy doing them.Also,you don't nessicarily have to cut your portions in half.As long as you eat healthier,you don't have to eat small portions.Try lots of fresh foods.
Also,know that muscle weighs more than fat does.Just because you might not be losing the pounds that you want to right away doesn't mean that you aren't getting more toned and stronger.
I hope that you decide to stick with running!I think that a change of scenery will prove that it isn't too boring.
