Shenzhen's municipal transportation system consists of public buses,public minibus (vans),and taxicabs.Public transportation has reached most of the major streets.There are now 113 companies operating in public transportation with a total of 11.5 thousand vehicles.Among them,over 800 are public buses,700 are public minibuses,over 2000 are privately-operated minibuses,and the rest are taxicabs.

Public buses are the most economical way to get around in Shenzhen.Most of the public buses have no ticketing agent on board and require exact change or a IC card.

Minibuses are another common public transportation tool.While most of them have fixed routes,some may change their route from time to time depending on the traffic.These minibuses often reach streets and places that regular buses do not.Fares are usually a little more expensive,but cheaper than taxis.

SPONSORED by Shenzhen Pengyun International Tra-vel Service,the service began on October 1,1998.Facilities on the double-decker buses include air-conditioning,TV,a bar and a guide service.
The route covers the railway station,International Trade Building,Diwang Mansion,Shenzhen Museum,Shenzhen Special Zone Press Tower,Honey Lake,Water Park,Splendid China,Folk Culture Villages,Happy Valley,Window of the World,and Future Times.
Passengers can also take the bus to shopping arcades as Futian Farm Product Market,Women's World,MOI Department Store,Wal-mart and Buji Farm Product Mar-ket.
Taxicabs
Taxis are easy to hail from the street.Charges start from 12.50 Yuan for the first 3 km and 2.4 Yuan for each additional mile.Fares are higher during late evening hours.
If a customer finds the taxi driver is charging unfair fares,he or she can report it to or file a complaint with the Municipal Small Vehicle Administration.
