Client D - Client is not prepared to disclose in the accounts a pending litigation,the outcome of which is uncertain.A group of ex-employees has brought a class action againstthe client for unlawful termination.Client strongly believes the ex-employeeshave no legal ground and the case is bound to be thrown out in the court of law.
Preparethe internal memo for each client.Remember the senior partner will read thememo before deciding on the audit report format you have suggested.
For each client,you should state-(i)The background of the matter (you can make any assumption you considernecessary)(ii)The type of report you recommend (unmodified,unmodified with emphasis of matter,qualified,adverse or disclaimer).If it is not unmodified report,draft the relevant part of the audit report.A complete audit report is notnecessary.(iii) Justification for your recommendation (you can quote any accounting and/or auditing standards that you consider appropriate).
