Gorky once said that books were the ladders of human progress.Yes,books have been playing an important role in the development of human beings.It is books that affect us a lot not only in our thoughts,but in our lifestyles as well.
I am a girl who likes reading very much.I have read many books such as Jane Eyre,Pride and Prejudice and so on.They've made a great impact on me.But what I think influences me most is the magnum opus of Margaret Mitchell named Gone with the wind.
To be honest,I was deeply touched after finishing reading this book.Scarlett O'Harra and her husband Rhett Butler left a deep impression on me.
To be the protagonist of the book,Scarlett is a dark-haired ,green-eyed Georgia belle who strggles through the hardship of the Civil War and Reconstruction.She is clever and brave.Determination defines her and drives her to achieve everything she desires by any means necessary.She never gives up,for she has a strong belief that she will succeed in the end.She tries her best to take care of Melannie.She does her best to rescue her home.She teaches me a lively lesson that where there is a will,there is a way.
Rhett Butler,as well as his wife Scarlett,is a real hero during the Civil War.Although he is scandalous,he is strong enough to face both reality and changes.Without hesitation,he goes after what he wants after having been thrown out of both West Point and his aristocratic family.He is not the same as Ashley who has lost himself during the war.In another word,he leads a comfortable life during the sword.What he has done tells me that I should be strong-willed.I should confront all the problems that I have met with a smile on my face.
Melanie teaches me tolerance,Kennedy allows me to know responsibility.It is the book as well as its characters that has helped shape what I am now.
I used to be cowardly before reading this book.I always chose to give up or to escape when I met difficulties even if I could work it out just by myself.There was no belief in my mind to spirit me up to solve problems and achieve my goals .After reading this book,you can see a sudden change happen in me.I have had a will of adamant since then .When I meet some troubles or something unfortunate at present,I always stand up and fight with them with determination and perseverance.
All in all,Gone with the Wind is a book which affects me most.After my narration,would you like to read this book?
