- Thanks you XXXX. I will be arguing that it is better to learn English in Britain than in China.
- The most obvious reason for my position is that since Britain is the birth place of English, it has the most resources to offer to English students.
- There are many great British writers, such William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens, who have produced many great works based on English societies. I would argue that it is easiest to appreciate and understand their works, if you have a better understand of British culture.
- More importantly, everyone in Britain speaks and writes English. This means that Britain offers limitless human capital to English students. An English student in Britain learns to speak English with their friends, learns to write English in school and learns to read English while surfing the web. This student basically spends his/her whole life using English, perfecting English and learning English from both school and everyday life.
- Also, because English is the official Language of Britain, the English level of the average British citizens is much better than that of the average Chinese citizen. The same logic can be applied to teachers. It is much easier for an English student to find good English teachers (or conversionists) in Britain than in China, simply because there are more good English teachers in Britain.
- Furthermore, regarding the level of English apprehension, British students are expected to have a higher understanding of English. Therefore, it’s much easier to learn higher level English in Britain because its environment promotes English learning the same way that China promotes Chinese learning.
- In conclusion, I believe, without a doubt, that it is better to learn English in Britain than in China, because English is a necessity in Britain. Thus, Britain had to develop better human resources, environment and history in order to facilitate the learning of English.
