The year before last year,Liu Xiang became the champion of male 110m hurdles (跨栏) at 2004 Olympic Games in Athens (雅典) .After that he became very very famous in the world. Almost all the Chinese are proud of him.
Liu Xiang is tall and young. He is always energetic(有活力的). He runs very fast. He likes playing computer games and going to sing karaoke when he is free.
He lives in Shanghai with his parents. He has a good trainer(教练) Sun Haiping. He helps Liu Xiang a lot.
He is not handsome but I think he is really wonderful. After he became famous,he is very busy, but he till works very hard. As a Chinese, it is very difficult for him to get such good achievement (成绩) in running. He is very hard (辛苦的、艰苦的),but he never gives up.He tries his best all the time.We should learn from him.
这篇稍难一些:
Liu Xiang was the first Asian to win the men’s 110 m hurdles at the Olympic Games in Athens. After that he became an idol to the young people.
When Liu Xiang crossed the finish line far ahead of the other players, in a world record—equaling time of 12.91 seconds, many fans burst into tears. It was Liu’s first Olympics and he won the gold medal.
“I never thought I could run under 13 seconds.” said Liu in tears, “This is a wonder. It is an amazing experience being the Olympic champion. I want to thank my coach and my friends for all their help.”
When Liu was a grade four student in a primary school, he was chosen by the Junior Sports School of Putuo District in Shanghai to practicing jumping. In 1998 when Liu Xiang, aged 15, met the famous coach Sun Haiping, his career changed greatly. Sun believed Liu Xiang was a rising star and after visiting Liu’s parents several times, finally he persuaded them to let Liu practice the 110 m hurdles.
Liu Xiang broke the 110m hurdles world record on July 12th in 2006. He became the centre of a media circus again. But Liu thinks this is not his end, he can run faster, and he expects to be at his peak in the summer games in Beijing in 2008. Liu Xiang said, “For some players, it’s just a job. For me, it’s what I love.”

Liu Xiang (Simplified Chinese: 刘翔, pinyin: Liú Xiáng) (born July 13, 1983 in Shanghai, China) is a hurdling athlete.
In 2002, Liu launched his career in fine style by winning the first IAAF Grand Prix in Lausanne with a world youth and Asian record time of 13.12 seconds in the 110 metres hurdles.
He has since made the finals at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics and IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics (twice); two of the three cases has seen American hurdling great Allen Johnson take the major prize, but in the last in May at Osaka, Liu managed to beat Johnson with an Asian-record time of 13.06 seconds.
Still young, Liu has improved steadily, and won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 110 meters hurdles event. In the final, he equaled the world record of 12.91 seconds held since 1993 by Colin Jackson of Wales. This is the first time an athlete of non-African descent has dipped under 13 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles.
