* allow的用法(句型搭配)
1.allow (doing) sth 允许(做)某事.如：

我觉得是语感的问题 问的是can “I”…… ，你为什么要回答 people 呢？多此一举

哈哈！allow doing sth.本身就指不允许（人）做某事，你要加个“people"上去有必要吗？有画蛇添足的成分！而且此句中要表达的意思是针对全部的人，这里不能吸烟，并非只针对一个人，不然的话或许可以用，allow you smoking。。。

如果allow后面直接跟动词，那么就用allow doing sth.
如果allow后面跟名词（人名），那么就用allow sb. to do sth.这个固定搭配。所以不选A.

若选A，好像不太礼貌。别人问是否可以在这儿吸烟，若选A 则是我们不许人在这儿吸烟，难道允许动物吸烟不成。故A不妥。希望你能有所帮助。
