7月22日这一天,也许是上天考验我们的耐心,一大早杭州的天就灰蒙蒙的,就像盖上了一层灰布似的,太阳始终也没有露脸.大伙的心都提到了嗓子眼,生怕自己错过了500年一遇的天文奇观.在焦急等待了一个多小时之后,随着一声“太阳出来了!”的大喊云端中终于出现了大家所盼望的太阳.8点半左右,月球开始“侵蚀”太阳.随着时间的推移,现场的气氛也是逐渐推向了高潮.9时30分许日食终于进入了令人激动的食甚阶段,所有的“长枪短炮”一齐瞄准了太阳.几秒钟后,美丽的钻石环显现了出来,这是现场的气氛也到达了顶峰.“哇!真漂亮”人群中发出一阵阵的赞叹声.我也在心里默默地想着：这景象可真壮观啊!天空中,那一颗格外闪耀的钻石环发出金黄色的光.随着钻石环的过去,天龙立即变暗了,许多星星在我们的头顶闪耀,气温也在瞬间下降了5℃左右,照相机的闪光灯此起彼伏,而更多的则是人们的赞叹声.

22日上午8时许，我国将出现500年一遇的大日食奇观，日全食持续时间最长可超过6分钟。
这次日全食发生在我国人口十分密集的长江流域，全食带覆盖人口将达到3亿，在我国史无前例。由于其最佳观测点集中在中国，因此被国际天文界誉为“中国日全食”。
一次千载难逢的日全食即将在万众瞩目下现身。7月22日上午，我国长江中下游地区将会出现3至6分钟不等的“白天突变黑夜”天象景观。
“日全食靠天吃饭”，而根据气象预报，22日当天，日全食主要覆盖城市都处于降雨区范围内。
最佳观测点集中在中国
22日早上，一场罕见的日全食会随着太阳的升起，从印度西海岸开始、扫过尼泊尔、孟加拉、不丹后进入我国，开始将近3000公里的行程。此次日全食，由于其最佳观测点集中在中国，因此被国际天文界誉为“中国日全食”。
全食带在我国将先后经过西藏、云南、四川、重庆、湖北、湖南、河南、江西、安徽、江苏、浙江和上海等地，随后进入大海，最终在辽阔的东南太平洋海域结束。
届时，如果天气晴，当天上午8时至9时左右，太阳将被月亮“吞掉”，看上去就犹如一个挂在天上的“黑饼”，周围围绕着一圈耀眼的光芒。罕见日全食现象，从日食初亏到复原长达两小时，全食持续时间最长超过6分33秒。
日全食带长达一万多公里
日全食带大部分时候都是在大海、荒无人烟的高山和沙漠地带穿越，真正能被成功科学观测到的日全食很少，这次日全食扫过中国人口十分密集的长江流域，在我国史无前例。
由于本次全食带比较宽，长度达一万多公里，宽度250公里，成都、武汉、上海等40多个城市都能看到，覆盖的人口超过3亿。
中国科学院上海天文台原台长、研究员赵君亮表示，“本次日全食观测可以创造一项吉尼斯纪录，就是能观测到的人口最多。因为恰好穿过了中国和印度这两个世界上人口最多的国家，这是前所未有的”，因此将成为史上观测人数最多的一次日全食。
