A novel by Bajin,published by Times in 1931.The Home is not the author's masterpiece,but the one of the most outstanding works in the moden literature.
The story is set in Chengdu where the big family of bureaucratic landlords.Juxin,Junming and Juehui are the major characters of the novel.The oldest brother Juexin and his cousin May fall in love at first sight,but their life together is destroyed when Juexin's fathe agrees,because of the feudalism's power,on a marriage with Yu in the end.But after his marriage,he can not forget May and don not want to leave Yu.His cowardice and hesitancy leads an unhappy and unfulfilled lift as both of two girls' death.At the same time,the New Culture Movement stimulate Jueming and Juehui to exchange of ideas freely by do publications.However,the girl Mingfeng who fall in love with Juehui was dead by resist forced marriage with the president of an association Mr.Fong.On the other hand,Jueming's grandfater asks him to marry Mr.Fong's grandniece.Jueming leaves home is the main reason why his grandfather's death.This sad story is end with Juehui breaks away from the Gao mansion.
The main theme of the novel is a question between love and marriage which describes the new and old forces,two kinds of the flight.The novelist has created a beautiful but sad story of live and lost love in an atmosphere of sorrow and despair.The reader easily understands the plight of all the leading roles.
