My first job interview
Facing such fierce competitions, job interview is not strange to us, especially for our college graduates. They keep delivering applications and take all kinds of job interviews, hoping to find a job that is not so bad. So a joking goes that graduation means unemployment. Being curious about the interview and for the sake of my successful job hunting, I decided to have a try.
Perhaps nowadays, it is easy to find a job advertisement; nothing is more than the job advertisement. We can see them here and there, on the web set, in the newspaper, even at the public washing room. But it’s hard to pick out a best one that can fit for your taste. After a consulting, I finally found one about oral spoken English teaching. Because it’s my forte so I dare to meet this challenge. Of course, before my formal interview, I tried to suppose what kind of situations I should to cope with, what kind of questions the interviewers may ask, and how can I answer their question skillfully. After all, that appointed day was coming, knowing little about the interview, I stepped into the office and door was closed, in front of me sitting two officers. Their smile is not so kind but it seemed to tell me: it’s your turn to do something. Then the first task that I encountered is to fill my personal information form. With pen in my hand, my hart is beating slightly, and my hand shivering constantly. “Calm down, don’t be hurry, it’s ok.” I informed myself once and once again. Then one officer asked me to introduce myself as soon as I finished my form filling. Thanks to my preparation, I gave them an answer promptly and clearly. Seeing a officer smiled at me, I know did a good job. At that moment a little sense of victim made me lose my way that another question was posed to me without my awareness. Unfortunately, I didn’t hear the question clearly, helplessly, my confusion indicated my problem. Before I escaped from the last one then another question was given to me, I have no choice but answered with my prepared one. In the end, I was asked to make a conclusion about my performance, considering that I should keep my modest, I told them my performances is good, but not perfect. I would have thought that my answer is pretty, actually, it was wrong. With these words: “waiting for our call!” then my first interview was finished, wondering in front of the office, I couldn’t believe that.
Waiting for the result is a litter suffering but enjoyable, though it’s evident that I failed my first job interview, at least, I experienced it in advance and got some valuable lesson, it also developed my courage and attitude to meet challenge bravely. Now I’m convinced that all these lessons will be a big help for my next interview, once and once again, I’m pretty sure that an excellent interview will be controlled by me at some day. Oh, miserable but beneficial my interview was.
