First of all, it’s said that most women are willing to have their husband with them when they have confinement in childbirth. After parturition, people around them will concentrate on babies, so they need more love from their husband. For men, if they have this time, they can look after their wife and baby, and adapt the new role---father. While, in fact, men usually can’t do well for baby and family work. What’s more, company usually don’t like paternity leave because it makes the company lack people to work, and may influence normal affairs. For example, if a man has a big project and hasn’t finished, but he needs to have paternity leave, how about the project and company benefit? For the third aspect, paternity leave will increase their financial stress. As long as the baby is born, a lot of money will be needed, but their income will decrease because of paternity leave. Before they decide to have paternity leave, they should think this problem carefully. The forth aspect is time. Usually paternity leave time is shorter then maternity leave time. However, if the husband doesn’t want to have paternity leave, it is allowed and should be given award. Lastly, for a country, it should guarantee people’s birth right. If the country gives assistance to company, and company gives assistance to staff, paternity leave will be a good thing, especially for couples far away from their parents and the citizen will get the biggest benefit.
Above all, the society can’t ignore paternity leave, when people have maternity leave. It’s a social problem, and needs all stakeholders to contribute to it.
