Sol-gel method was adopted in this experiment, with the raw materials including ferric nitrate, manganese nitrate, tetraethyl orthosilicate, ethanol and DI water, manganese ferrite sol was prepared first, then the manganese ferrite film was obtained with Spin-Coating method, and finally the sample needed for the investigation of the topic was available after agglomeration. Temperature couldn’t be too high during preparation of manganese ferrite sol as the reaction could be very violent and lots of black solids might be made under high temperature. We need to dropwise add tetraethyl orthosilicate into saline solution and a non-stop stirring is necessary to make sure the reactants can be sufficiently mixed. Pay attention to adjust the PH of the sol having been prepared to ensure its value between 2 to 3. Observe the sol after aging for 1 day.
By virtue of analysis of XRD, scanning electroscope and magnetic characteristics, we can understand more about the MnFe2O4/SiO2 composite film structure and recognize correctly the mechanism of magnetic particles dispersing into the matrix structure of silicon dioxide. That the disperse and a stable existence of magnetic particles in the matrix structure of silicon dioxide has not only showed us magnetic characteristics rely on particle dimensions but also showed the characteristics such as high magnetic conductivity, high saturation magnetization, low coercive force and low loss.
