Since有以下几种用法:
当介词用,意思为“自从”如:
He has lived here since 1949.
自从1949年以来他一直住在这儿.
Since seeing you I have had good news.
自从遇到你以后我就得到了好消息.
当副词用,表示“后来,从那时以后”如:
He left the town in 1980 and I haven”t seen him since.
他在1980年离开这个城市,后来我就没再见过他.
当连词用,表示“…以后”,“因为,既然”
如:
I have written home but once since I came here.
我到这里之后只写过一次家信.
Since you insist,I must go.
既然你坚持,我就必须去了.
Before 在英语中是一个比较常用的虚词,它既可作介词或副词用,也可作从属连词用.下面就把其作为从属连词的用法归纳如下:
1.表示“在…..之前就…..”.

2.表示“过了多久后才……..,动作进行到什么程度才……”
