【Abstract】It is true that learning English well is not very easy. By summarizing my English study, I obtain some good ways to learn English. The first way is to learn English in class. The second way is to learn English in practice. The third way is to learn English in daily life. This paper gave the methods of English study and the advantages of these methods.

My English Study

Introduce

It is of great importance for me to continue to learn English in college. During these years, I have made some progress and gotten some methods to learn English well. I am of full confidence that someday I can conquer all the difficulties and make achievements.

1. The first way to learn English---studying English in class

1.1 Making sure you won’t go wrong with grammar

In English study, grammar is one of the most important factors. It is the foundation of any kind of communication. Every time before the class began, I always came to the classroom very early, and then prepared lessons before class. So I have never been late or absent for English class in this term. The development and wide spread of English language has led to the internationalization and localization of English language,during which English language is widely used in international communications by people with different mother tongues,in addition,English variations on different levels and local varieties have emerged. ①

1.2 Doing enough exercises

China English is an objective existence as a performance variety used in China.It is based on standard English and possesses Chinese characteristics.②

This term I spent much more time in English than any time before. As I quited my part time job this term,I fucused all my attention on study.Every time before the class began, I always came to the classroom very early , and then prepared lessons before class. So I have never been late or absent for English class in this term. During the class, I always listened to the teacher very carefully and took notes on my English book.

2. The second way to learn English---studying English in practice

2.1 Improving the ability of listening and speaking

2.1.1 making a good plan for your study and practice it strictly

Reading comprehension is also an important part when you take an English test. Reading comprehension test can help you to improve vocabulary, grammar, and logical thought ability. There are some tips for you to improve reading skills: - Practice reading every day. You should read different fields to improve your vocabulary.

- Take note all new words and learn them. - Try to answer all the questions.

- After answer all the questions. Check the key and read the passage again to find out the mistake you have faced and deeply understand the passage you have read.③ Here are some strategies for improving your comprehension skills. Skim: read for the brief idea or overview. Scan: read for specific details or a specific reason.

My Home

Let me give a brief description of what it is like. It is not a very big one, but already enough for my family to live in. When you enter the door you will be in the hall, the place where my family sit together and have dinner in the evening. On the left are two rooms, they are kitchen and my bedroom respectively. We store food and cook meals in the kitchen. My bedroom is very tidy because I always tend to put my things in the right place. Beyond that, it is mostly due to my mother’s hard cleaning even when I am not at home. You can see another bedroom and a living room on the right. That bedroom is for my mother and father, a little bigger than mine. The living room is the largest room of the house, in which we can do a series of things such as watching TV, doing body building exercises and so on. Back to the hall, there is a room separated only by a wall, is the bathroom. It is divided by a sliding door into two smaller rooms: a storeroom outer and a bathroom inner.

My bedroom is a small but nice place. There are a bed, a desk, a bookshelf and a wardrobe in the room, leaving no much space. Despite of the fact that it is small, I believe as long as you put everything in order, the size won’t be a problem anymore. The desk is put right close to the window and on the opposite stands the bookshelf. The bookshelf has four layers. I like to put my dictionaries on the first layer and some books I prefer on the second. Other books and materials for tests are on the third and fourth layer. It is a really nice experience to read books I love at the desk

in a free afternoon, by which I can fully relax myself from the busy life as a medical student. Next to the bookshelf is the wardrobe with my clothes in it. The bed is beside the desk, providing me with good sleep when I am at home. My room is a place where I can always feel a sense of relief no matter what I have suffered outside.

Though my home is not a big mansion, I still love it. It is the only place in the world in which I can be completely relaxed, the only place I can get rid of pain, depression and all the negative emotions to welcome a new day of my life. For me, my home not only means a place to live in, but a shelter for my heart and soul.

My Experience with English Writing

I began writing English since I was twelve. That is to say, I have been writing English for ten years. English writing like a friend who always companies wo me and helps me. I am very glad to have such a good friend, because it really help me a lot.

Firstly. English writing improves my level of study English. I was poor at English when I began to learn it, I still remember that I hardly wrote a word on my book when I was asked to write composition and I always worried about my English. I was even afraid of learning English. All of these bad things changed after I stick to write with the help of my English teacher. I began to like learning English and felt easy to learn English. At the same tine, I was proud of my English, for my teacher always praised me in class. Then I write every week so that I could write quickly and well. Also, I got good scores in my exam. I know that my English writing plays an important role in my improvement of English.

Secondly, English writing helps me learn more knowledge. I have to search some information for my writing when I get a writing assignment. During the time I search, I also learn some new things from it. For example, I try to surf the Internet about festivals when my teacher ask me to write a composition about festivals. It is obvious that I know more about festivals when I find the materials. Because I have to choose which one I would like to write. If I will write a composition about fruit, I can learn something about fruit. If I will write something about travel, then I can get some information about travel, which may be beautiful places o friendly people.

The last but not least, English writing helps me keep my secret. As an English major, I write English diary every day. It is a friend who accept all of my minds, my happiness, my sadness, my love, my hatred. I can tell it all my things without worrying whether it is unsafe or it complain about me. Sometimes, I even feel that it can console me when I am in a bad mood. I come back from the bad situation after I write them on paper. I never worry about there is someone who know my secret as long as I hide my book in a safe way.

I learn to write and write to learn. English writing will company with me forever. It is beneficial if I always write.
