Everyday we are working, studying, thinking or do other things and our body become slowness. So we can build up our body through climb mountains. Even though traveling in a group tour has been prevailing since it formed as a way to travel ,there are still some demerits that can’t be ignored---the conflict among groups or between visitors and tour guide, restriction of the fixed tour route and bearing extra expenditure of buying useless souvenirs. Fortunately, some other alternatives may satisfy a variety of demands, including hanging out with a few friends without a tour guide or starting a journey by oneself.

Traveling in a group with a tour guide may result in conflicts that break the good mood of travel and sometimes it can be dangerous. It is hard for both tour guide and visitors to get along with each other in the entire processing of journey because there are too many details lying in implementing the tour plan. For instance, the expectation gap may lead to the dissatisfaction of the tourists, thus screw up the good mood. If these dissatisfactions can not find a proper way to address, conflict will followed? Things could be worse on condition that they travel abroad or somewhere totally strange to the group. Taking China for example, incidences that are caused by the conflicts between tourists and tour guide happen every year. Just several years ago, it is reported that a China’s tour group whose tour guide threatened the tourists by using a gun in order to let them pay a great deal of fees that did not exist in the tour contract.

Restriction of the fixed tour route and the extra expenditure also count on the demerits in traveling in a group with a tour guide. Once one chose to travel in a group, he has to compromise with the other people in the group or the tour guide. It means he is not allowed to visit the scenic site he wants to, or even has no opportunity to hang out around in the street of the place he stays. Further, he also has no access to get into deeply knowing the local culture and the national customs. Besides, traveling in a group can be disturbed by companions, especially when they comment on the view or discuss loudly about something, let alone enjoy the journey. Moreover, the tour guide will bring you to some shops which they corporate with .So they can earn the commission on sales. There are plenty of evidence that no one can keep their wallet closed in those kinds of places to buy commodities in impulse, which brings a extra expense.

Luckily, there are still some other alternatives ,such as traveling on one’s own or just accompanied by a few congenial friends .Taking the traveling on one’s own for a point ,it enables one to benefit from one or two merits of it in stead of those shortages that have been stated above . On the one hand, designing the entire route by oneself without negotiating with anyone can make the arrangement changed flexibly. On the other hand, we can enjoy the fulfillment of venturing a new place on one’s own.

In conclusion, considering the psychic, monetary and safe aspects of travel, it is not a best way to travel in a group led by a tour guide .traveling by oneself or with a few compatible friends should also be taken into the travel plan.

Though the purpose of the travel, the personalities of the other group members and the skills and knowledge of the tour guide are all factors to consider, generally speaking, I prefer to travel alone or with only one or two close friends. .

Traveling alone is an exciting test of one’s “survival skills”, gives an opportunity to face

challenges and develop confidence and skills which going with a tour guide does not.

Because the varied interests and personalities of the other travelers, conflicts as to what to see, how long to stay at a site, what to eat, what mode of travel to use etc. often arise making the group experience unpleasant. Conversely, traveling alone allows one to concentrate on the major purpose of the trip or on those aspects most interesting to the individual.

Traveling alone also enables one to interact more often and more closely with the locals, not only in terms of asking for directions and other help but also enables the traveler to develop personal friendships with the locals who may have some interests in commons.

Language skills are also developed as the lone travelers fend for themselves in a land with a different language.

Lone travelers also learn much more about the people and the culture as they try to discover or negotiate with the locals about the myriad details of their stay in a local area.
