death of a salesman 的作文,
要把作文的水平改到一个LEVEL,请大家帮下忙吧.完了后会加分的,
The main character,Willy Loman,in Death of A Salesman by Arthur Miller is lost him self in a warped vision of the American Dream. He is trying to achieve what he considers to be a salesman is heroic status. As Biff says,Willy has “all the wrong dreams”,but he never knew who he was.Willy has dreamed to be the “number one man” and obsessed with America but that is affected by the time period.Willy wrongly thinks that a “well liked” and “personally attractive” man in business will indubitably and deservedly acquire the material comforts offered by modern American life; the plot of the play proves him wrong.
Dave Singleman who is a greatest salesman that Willy believes,is success and people are respect and gratitude that makes Willy think “selling was the greatest career a man could want”,but Willy wants that job because of its honorable nature and bright prospects.A great salesman like Dave Singleman can be highly respected and welcomed by people.Willy thinks Singleman has “personal attractiveness”,and because of that he is highly respected and has a good material life.As a successful salesman, they first should love their job.No matter what it is,people might dislike they or their jobs, but it is others’ problems.Willy does not realize that; he loves his job,but it is because Singleman’s status makes him dream about this “greatest career” and his future.Dave Singleman’s death and the funeral makes Willy commits himself to a pathetic death and meaningless legacy. He speaks of Dave Singleman as a legend and imagines that his death must have been beautifully noble.“When he died, hundreds of salesman and buyers were at his funeral….There was respect, and comradeship, and gratitude in it.” (Miller,81) His admiration of Singleman’s prolonged success illustrates his obsession with being well liked. He fathoms having people “remember” and “love” him as the way people did Dave Singleman. In so highly esteeming Singleman and deeming his on-the-job death as dignified, respectable, and graceful,Willy fails to see the human side of Singleman, much as he fails to see his own human side.He envisions Singleman as a happy man but ignores the fact that Singleman was still working at age eighty-four and might likely have experienced the same financial difficulties and consequent pressures and misery as Willy.
Willy’s brother Ben becomes rich because of his diamonds, and that makes Willy envy and yearn. His final mantra—“The jungle is dark, but full of diamonds” skews Willy’s ambition to realize his full commercial and material capacity. To Willy, diamonds represent tangible wealth, and hence, both validation of one’s labor (and life) and the ability to pass material goods onto one’s offspring. Two things are Willy desperately craves.
As Ben’s parlance,Wiily is eager to go to the jungle and mislead by Ben.And that makes the tragedy at the end of play.According to Ben,“not like an appointment at all.A diamond is rough and hard to the touch.” (Miller,134) Diamond makes Ben become a rich. But it’s hard to find and to be reached.Willy only knows the best side of the diamond, the same on his dream, sees the positive and the bet sides. As Ben said, diamond is rough. His jungle life might be rough and difficult. But he was able to get over it,and that makes him rich.It is not because Ben was “attractive” and “popular”,he might be later not before.
Young Biff is Willy’s whole expectation and pround,he think young Biff will be the top man in American because his campaign talent and personality. But Willy forget the hard work,Biff is concentrate at football and failed math, that cause some difficulties for his following life,it means if Biff failed football,he will have not a single merit.

The main character,Willy Loman,in Death of A Salesman by Arthur Miller loses himself in a warped vision of the American Dream. He is trying to achieve what he considers to be fit for a salesman of heroic status. As Biff says,Loman has “all the wrong dreams",but he never knew who he is.He has dreamed to be the “number one man” and is obsessed with the American way of life.He wrongly thinks that a “well liked” and “personally attractive” man in business will indubitably and deservedly acquire the material comforts, but the plot of the play proves him wrong.
Dave Singleman, the greatest of all salesman that Loman believes,is a success and it is just the respect and gratitude he receives that makes Loman think “selling was the greatest career a man could want".Indeed,Loman wants the job of sales for its honorable nature and bright prospects. He also beleives that Singleman made his success --- fortune and fame --- because of his "personal attractiveness".A successful salesman should first,to my mind, love selling.People may dislike that job of his,but it is their problem, not his.Loman does not realize that; he loves his job just because Singleman's status makes him dream about this “greatest career” and the prospect that it may offer. After Singleman dies,Loman speaks of him as a legend and imagines his death being beautifully noble.“When he died, hundreds of salesman and buyers were at his funeral….There was respect, and comradeship, and gratitude in it.” (Miller,81) His admiration for Singleman’s prolonged success illustrates his obsession with being well liked. He fantasizes about having people “remember” and “love” him the way people did Dave Singleman. In so highly esteeming Singleman and deeming his on-the-job death as dignified, respectable, and graceful,he fails to see the human side of Singleman, much as he fails to see his own human side.He envisions Singleman as a happy man but ignores the fact that Singleman was still working at age eighty-four and the likelihood of him experiencing the same financial difficulties and consequent pressures and misery as Loman himself does.
Loman's brother Ben becomes rich because of his diamonds, and that makes Loman envy and yearn. His final mantra— "The jungle is dark, but full of diamonds"--- skews Loman's ambition to realize his full commercial and material capacity. To Loman, diamonds represent tangible wealth, and hence, both validation of one's labor (and life) and the ability to pass material goods onto one's offspring, two things that Loman desperately craves.
问题补充:
As Ben’s parlance,Wiily is eager to go to the jungle and mislead by Ben.And that makes the tragedy at the end of play.According to Ben,“...not like an appointment at all.A diamond is rough and hard to the touch.” (Miller,134) Diamonds make Ben rich. But they ares hard to find and to be reached.Loman knows only the value of diamonds, just as he sees only the positive sides to everything. As Ben said, diamond is rough,as so is his jungle life. But he was able to smooth all the roughness and to make a fortune. It is not because Ben was "attractive" and "popular" --- he might be later, not before.
Young Biff is Loman's whole expectation and pride, thinking that he will make the top man of America because of his campaigning talent and personality. But Loman forgets the hard work.Biff was good at football but poor math in school, which caused some difficulties to his life after leaving school. If he had also failed football, needless to say,he would not have even a single merit.
