Extensive site visits helped significantly to enhance the knowledge of the site as well as to foster the under- standing of river dynamics and vegetation in the Pu´Er region.Also,many gaps in information could be bridged by assessing the rivers in PuEr and different natural sites in the greater area.During the preliminary workshop several field trips along Simao river were conducted to understand the local situation.Also new development sites and parks were visited to get an understanding of the character of city redevelopment.
