体育锻炼是指人们根据需要自我选择,运用各种体育手段,并结合自然力和卫生措施,以发展身体,增进健康,增强体质,调节精神,丰富文化生活和支配余暇时间为目的的体育活动.本文以文献资料法、问卷调查法、数理统计法和逻辑法等研究方法,通过对临湘市城镇居民参加体育锻炼的现状研究,了解临湘市城镇居民参加体育锻炼的人群、频度、时间、场地、项目的选择等特征,找出城镇居民进行体育锻炼的优势和影响居民进行体育锻炼目前存在的困难和问题,对其产生的原因进行深层次的理性探讨,提出一些建设性的建议,为更好的促进临湘市城镇居民的体育锻炼的发展提供有利的参考,对地方政府部门制定群众体育工作政策有着积极的意义.

Physical exercise means the physical activity that people select when they need, using a variety of sports means, health measures combined with the forces of nature to develop their body, in order to improve their health, as well as enhance physical fitness and mental condition, enriching cultural life and sparing their leisure time. In this paper, literature, questionnaires, statistics and logic and other research methods are to be used. Through the investigation of status quo of Linxiang urban residents' participation in physical exercises, we'll get to know the frequency, time , sites, and other characteristics of the selected group, for the purpose of finding out the advantages of physical exercise in urban areas and what are the existing difficulties and problems. As a result, we'll discuss the causes of that reasonably, and put forward some constructive suggestions, Lastly, we hope to give valuable advice to the development of Linxiang residents' physical life, and have a positive influence on local government 's mass sports policy desicion.
