Television is a passive experience,whether it is educational or based on fantasy.Educational TV does not offer the child opportunities to focus attention on one subject for a long period—the segments designed to “teach” young viewers,are short and frantic,which research has suggested may lead to a shortened attention span,lack of reflectiveness and an expectation of rapid change in the broader environment.Being one-way communication,TV doesn’t allow the child to respond and interact either,to improve and develop their communication skills.Televised violence may produce aggressive and/or violent behavior in viewers.

Since we are living in a fast-developing world, all kinds of appliances are necessities to us, especially the TELIVISION. Why do I say so? Because for most of us, we usually spend most of the leisure time on TV programs so that we could learn and absorb new information, even entertain ourselves. In the other hand, it also has lots of disadvantages.
It can provide new information but waste our time. We can attain up-to-date information through it. For example, what killed those people in Iraq today? How many people have been killed? Try to imagine that I am going abroad but have no ideas about which country to go, so I need to turn on the TV, and search on the newspapers. Since we need to search, check and skim, we need a bunch of time to do so. Maybe we waste the time but get no useful information and have no enough time to deal with our work and study.
It also can entertain people everyday as it primary function, but meanwhile it harms our eyes everyday as well. We all know that there are lots of TV programs, TV series, from Europe, America, Korea, and also the other places of the world. We could entertain ourselves anytime we want. Even there is no favorite TV programs being shown on, we can just insert a DVD or VCD as easy as drinking a glass of water. But at the same time our eyes are being destroyed badly. We all know that there is a limitation for using eyes according to all oculists. So we have eye-protecting practice, eye drops to provide varieties of methods to improve and protect our eyes.
