the UK precursor to American Football, which is still happily played over here in the UK. There are two variants of rugby, namely Rugby Union and Rugby League, with one of the chief differences between the two being the number of players per team - 15 in Union and 13 in League, but that's not desperately relevant.
To deal with Rugby Union, a rugby team is divided into the forwards - 8 big hulking guys who form the "scrum" (hence the term line of scrimmage) - and the backs who line up diagonally across the pitch whenever a scrum takes place, but who must be behind the ball. The 7 backs are themselves sub-divided into 2 half-backs (the scrum-half, the guy who feeds the ball into the scrum and distributes it down the line of backs if his side should win the ball, and the fly-half, sometimes known as the standoff-half, who's next down the line), 4 three-quarter backs (the inside and outside centres and a left and right wing) and right at the rear, the full back.
So it's all about the positioning of the players on a rugby pitch. I suspect that American Football adopted and amended these terms.

The government and people of China have always admired the purposes and principles of the Olympic spirit and supported the efforts made by the Olympics in promoting world peace. The Chinese government and people are doing our utmost in preparation for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. It is our hope to make it a grand gathering that will carry forward the Olympic spirit, promote world peace and enhance the friendship among people of the world, so that the Olympic spirit will flourish once again, this time in China, an oriental country with an ancient civilization.

ways of sending information
From the beginning of human history,information traveled only as fast as a ship could sail.Or a horse could run. Or a person could walk.
People experiment(做实验)with other ways to send messages.Some people tried using birlds to carry messages.Then they discovered it was not a safe way to send or recive information.
A faster method finally arrived with the invention of the telegraph.the first useful telegraph were developed in Britain and the United States in the 1830s.
The telegraph was the first instrument used to send messages using wires and electricity.T telegraph sent messages between two places which were connected by telegraph wires

Once there lived an old tiger in the forest. He did not often go to look for food himself. Each day he made one of the smaller animals bring him something to eat.
One morning the tiger was very, very hungry. He said to a monkey, “I’m hungry, Monkey. Go and bring me a fat pig.”
“I can’t do that, Mr Tiger.”said the monkey. “There’s another tiger in the forest. He’s younger and stronger than you are. He told me not to bring you anything.”
“What!” shouted the old Tiger. “Another tiger? Show me that beast. I’ll speak to him.”
“Come with me, Mr. Tiger,” said the monkey. “You’ll see yourself.”
The monkey took the tiger to a big river. “Look into the river,” said the monkey. “There he is! See his head? Look at his big teeth. Isn’t he bigger than you?”
“Grr…! So you told Monkey not to bring me anything1 Grrr … I’ll kill you!”
With these words the tiger jumped into the river. He did not come out again
“Ha,ha, ha! Goodbye, Mr Tiger,” said the monkey and away he went.
