现在，就由我来简单的介绍下鹅銮鼻吧！銮鼻位于台湾屏东县恒春镇，位于中央山脉尽处台地的最南端，隔着巴士海峡与菲律宾相望。三面临海，一面背山，是太平洋、巴士海峡和台湾海峡的分界处，南部海上轮船来往必经这里，其重要性有如非洲的好望角。“鹅銮”是台湾原住民排湾族语言里“帆”的译音，因为附近的香蕉湾有大石像船帆般的形状，所以特取此名，再加上该地形就好像是个突出的鼻子，“鼻”便是指岬角，故称鹅銮鼻或“鹅銮鼻半岛”。又有一种说法是台湾的单国玺枢机主教(辅仁大学董事长)，某次与荷兰朋友聊天时，告诉他的朋友鹅銮鼻的地名源自排湾语时，荷兰朋友对他提出了纠正，他说这个名字源自Oil Lamp(油灯)(因为这个灯塔使用煤油)。荷兰人发音浊重，Oil Lamp听起来就变成鹅銮，P加上尾音i就成了Oil Lampi，就是鹅銮鼻的由来。
